The Hygge Box Hop, located in rural Ohio, turns seven stacked shipping containers into a convincing Scandi retreat.

The cabin is one of several container homes owned and designed by Emily and Seth Britt, all located in Ohio’s Hocking Hills region. It’s part of the couple’s hospitality brand, The Box Hop, set up to provide space for city-dwellers to escape to a more remote setting.

The Hygge Box Hop, as the name suggests, is designed with comfort in mind, which means plenty of wood panelling, a giant L-shaped sofa, and a pair of wood-burning fireplaces.

Up to ten people can stay in the cabin, which also includes a six-person sauna and a hot tub. Hocking Hills State Park – which has hiking trails, waterfalls and caves – is 12 miles away, and Columbus is a 40-minute drive. The cabin starts at $638 per night via Airbnb.
